Claire Anderson of Catlin, a senior at Catlin High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for the fall 2017 term.
At Catlin High School, Anderson is involved on the Student Advisory Team, National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, Salt Fork Storm Varsity Cheer Team, and is a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“Everything about this school just felt like home,” said Anderson. “Coming from a small town, I felt it was important to keep that small town feel, while still at a university in order to receive the most out of my higher education.”
Anderson plans to major in nursing. Following graduation from UIS, her plans include seeking a Doctor of Nursing degree and pursuing a career as a chief nurse anesthetist.
The University of Illinois Springfield is one of three campuses of the world-class University of Illinois. Over 5,000 students enroll each year at UIS seeking a U of I degree in the friendly learning environment of a smaller university.
