Rylee Billington of Normal, a senior at Normal Community West High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2019 and awarded a $38,000 Lincoln Scholarship for tuition over four years. She plans to major in exercise science at UIS and play on the women’s soccer team.
The scholarship is awarded based on GPA and ACT/SAT scores and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements.
At Normal West, she plays soccer and is a member of the Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Outdoor Adventure Club, National Honors Society, National English Honors Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honors Society.
“I'm choosing UIS because I absolutely love the campus and it's close to home,” she said. “I'm excited to be involved with the women's soccer program and study exercise science.”
Following graduation from UIS, she plans to continue her education in order to become a physical therapist.
All incoming UIS freshmen are eligible to apply for Lincoln Merit Scholarships. The amount awarded is based upon the incoming student’s ACT or SAT score. To receive $38,000 over four years, students must earn a 30 to a 31 on their ACT or a minimum of 1390 SAT and hold a minimum high school GPA of 4.0 or greater.
