Janet Rodriguez of Peoria admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield

Janet Rodriguez of Peoria, a senior at Manual High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for the fall 2018 term.

At Manual High School Rodriguez is active in Scholastic Bowl, Youth Advisory Council, Student Council, AVID College & Career Readiness, Medical Enrichment and Key Club.

“I am choosing UIS because I feel like I am at home,” she said. “My first visit, I felt like this is where I belonged and the environment where I know I can achieve my goals.”

Rodriguez plans seek a degree in social work and hopes to participate in an internship program.

Following graduation, she hopes to pursue a master’s degree in social work.
