Tiffanie Coburn of Chicago admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield

Tiffanie Coburn of Chicago, a senior at Rauner College Prep, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for the fall 2018 term.

At Rauner College Prep, she participates in Poetry Club, plays Rugby and is active in Zumba.

“I’m choosing UIS because the reputation that it holds at my school is outstanding regarding its academics and events. I can not only get an excellent education, but I’m also not so far away from home,” said Coburn.

“When I see UIS, I see a successful, prestigious and awe-inspiring future.”

Coburn plans to major in biochemistry and hopes to pursue a career as an epidemiologist after graduation.

“I plan to answer the questions that keep me up at night,” she said.

Kayla Green of Chicago admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield

Kayla Green of Chicago, a senior at Von Steuben Metro Science High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for the fall 2018 term.

At Von Steuben, she is involved in dance, Book Club and the Sign Language Club. She says she chose UIS because she loves the “small environment UIS has built.”

At UIS, she plans to major in Clinical Laboratory Science. Following graduation, she plans to become a Cytotechnologist.
