Ashyla Williams of Springfield admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield

Ashyla Destiny Williams of Springfield, a senior at Lanphier High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for the fall 2019 term.

At Lanphier High School Williams was involved as a member of the yearbook staff.

Williams said she chose UIS because it was an affordable education.

“I am choosing UIS to save money and to stay close to home,” she said.

Williams plans to major in nursing and hopes to one day work as a nurse in the local health care system.

The University of Illinois Springfield is proud to be one of three universities in the world-class University of Illinois System.
