Freddy Sermeno of Chicago admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield

Freddy Orlando Sermeno, III of Chicago, a senior at Roberto Clemente Community Academy, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for the fall 2018 term.

At Roberto Clemente Community Academy, he is involved in archery, rowing, the Clemente Steel Drum Band, Drill Team, Aspen Challenge Team, Junior Cadet Leadership Camp (JCLC,) Junior ROTC, and has served in a Cisco internship.

“UIS offers all of the things I could ever ask for in a college, university and more,” said Sermeno.

Sermeno plans to pursue a degree in computer science and would like to seek a master’s degree afterward.
